Dear Trail Voter,

As TPAC gears up for the 2014 midterm elections, it wants to keep trail voters updated periodically on important issues.

Some of you may already be aware of an effort by a non-motorized "recreation" group called the Outdoor Industry Association to urge President Obama to use (misuse) the Antiquities Act of 1906 to designate 1.4 million acres in Utah as the Canyonlands National Monument.

Placing limits on the Act that would prevent an Administration from using executive orders to set aside millions of acres as National Monuments without input from Congress and the public remains one of our key reform objectives.

Currently, national OHV groups, the powersports industry, the Governor of Utah, and the Utah Congressional delegation oppose the plan since these designations historically limit or ban OHV recreation and other public uses.

The next few years will most certainly be filled with a lot of politically motivated land-use decisions that will require trail voters and users to remain engaged.

Best regards,

Don Amador, Founder
The Trail PAC
