While renewal of the OHMVR Program is top priority, there are other bill pending before the State Senate and Assembly the will have an impact on recreation and access to public lands.

AB 18 – CA Clean Water, Climate, Coastal Protection and Outdoor Access for All Act of 2018. This legislation passed the floor of the state Assembly this week and was ordered to the Senate where it has been read for the first time. It is a Parks Bond bill, with the June 2018 statewide election as the target.
SB 5 – CA Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection and Outdoor Access for All Act of 2018. This is the Senate companion legislation of AB 18 and is currently in committee process. It is a Parks Bond bill, with the June 2018 statewide election as the target. At some point, AB 18 and SB 5 will be reconciled to determine which one will go to the voters.
AB 907 – Office of Outdoor Recreation and Public Lands Enhancement. This calls for the formation of an outdoor recreation office for California, similar to what has already been created in Utah, Colorado, Washington and is being pursued in Oregon and Montana. It is in committee process.
