CHESTER, Calif., February 27, 2017 – Due to the rising water level of Lake Almanor, the Canyon Dam Boat Launch area is currently underwater. The dock has been pulled up to its highest level. Visitors are advised to use caution when trying to access the facility, both for parking and boating. At this time, the duration of high water levels is unknown. Access will improve when conditions are more favorable.

Lassen National Forest lies at the Crossroads of California, where the granite of the Sierra Nevada, the lava of the Cascades and the Modoc Plateau, and the sagebrush of the Great Basin meet. The Forest is managed for recreational access as well as timber and firewood, forage for livestock, water, minerals, and other natural resources.
