OSV routes closed to wheeled motor vehicles

Quincy, CA – February 1, 2017 – Plumas National Forest over snow vehicle (OSV) routes in the Little Grass Valley and Bucks Lake areas are closed to all wheeled motor vehicles including all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s) through March 31, 2017. Wheeled motor vehicles create ruts on maintained OSV trails which result in hazardous conditions for OSV operators.

A list of the OSV routes may be found in Forest Order (#11-17-02) under “Alerts & Notices” at http://www.fs.usda.gov/plumas . Remember the Bucks Lake Wilderness Area is closed to all motor vehicles and bicycles all year.

Funding for Plumas NF snowmobile trail maintenance comes from the State of California Off Highway Vehicle Division.
