WILLOWS, Calif.; Jan. 11, 2017 – Mendocino National Forest officials announce several fee-free days for the 2017 season starting with Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. On this day, fees will be waived at Forest Service managed campgrounds and the Red Bluff Recreation Area boat launch. The fee waiver will not apply to campsites at Lake Pillsbury that are operated under concessionaire through PG&E. Also, Mendocino National Forest offices will be closed on Jan. 16.

Additional fee-free days for 2017 are:

President's Day – February 20

Get Outdoors Day – June 11

National Public Land’s Day – September 30

Veteran’s Day – November 11 and November 12

Ann Carlson, Mendocino National Forest Supervisor says, “We are pleased to offer these fee-free days. We hope folks will start making their plans to explore the Mendocino National Forest.”
